What’s an EMBA?

EMBA is Executive Management Business Administration is a general management qualification. It is a part-time course, specially designed for corporate executives and senior managers who come with long years of work experience and are already in the workforce. So, a considerable amount of work experience is helpful to succeed in the top-tier EMBA program. EMBA allows executives to earn the degree while keeping a hold on their respective jobs.

Criteria

Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in Business can enter into EMBA directly with their solid work experience, but applicants with bachelor’s degrees in other fields need to have an impressive GMAT or EA (Executive Assessment) score.

Duration and Pace

The duration of EMBA ranges from 8 months to 2 years depending on the university and country you are applying to. The majority of university considers EMBA as a one-year post-graduate program. It is a part-time program, on evenings, weekends and intensive weeks which can take place and can be attended from any part of the globe. EMBA students stay at their place of residence, work, and study at the same time. The pace of courses is faster as compared to that of MBA, but the curriculum is similar.

Fee Structure

On average the entire cost of some of the top EMBA courses costs you $137,500. If we talk about the fees range, it lies in between $62,000-$213,000. EMBA slowly and gradually is becoming a self-funded course, indicating that more B-Schools are providing scholarships. As students are earning and learning, the financial pressure is lesser compared to that of an MBA. Many applicants are even company-funded, where the students are bound to serve the company for some years after the completion of their degree.

Lifestyle and Nature

In an EMBA, the emphasis is more on networking in a small cohort, with lesser interactions between the large student bodies. The interaction between the students is on a weekly basis. Networking is the key while doing an EMBA.

Job Profiles and Salary quotient

EMBA can give you a variety of job opportunities like a chief executive officer, a chief financial officer, marketing director, vice president, operations manager, etc earning between 120,000 to 250,000 a year.
