Entrance Exams for Studying Abroad: A Quick Guide

✔️ IELTS (International English Language Testing System):
Description: English language proficiency test accepted by 3000+ universities worldwide for migration or higher education.
Formats: IELTS Academic and IELTS General.
Exam fee (pen and paper-based): INR 16,250.
Valid: For 2 years from the date of exam for educational purposes and 3 years for Migration.
Duration: 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Frequency: Can be taken up to four times a month.
✔️ PTE (Pearson Test of English):
Description: Trusted English test for Indian students applying to English-speaking universities abroad.

Valid: 2 years from the date of exam

✔️ SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test):
Description: Administered by the College Board for undergraduate studies abroad, especially in the US, Canada, Europe, Singapore, and India.
2023 Exam duration: Reduced from 3 hours to 2 hours 14 minutes.
Valid: 5 years from the date of exam
Indian exam fee: $104 (INR 7,700) for nationals, including a non-US regional fee of $49 (INR 3,600).
✔️ ACT (American College Testing):
Description: Standardized test required for admission to undergraduate schools mainly in the USA, US, Canada and other countries.
Duration: 2 hours and 55 minutes.
Exam fee : (Indians): $176.50 (₹14,630 approx.), and $201.50 (₹16,703 approx.) with the Optional Writing Section.
Valid:No specific expiration date but within 5 years score is preferred.
✔️GRE (Graduate Record Examination):
Description: Important for candidates pursuing graduate studies abroad,mainly in Canada, USA, China, India, and other European countries.
Exam fee: (General Test): ₹22,550 INR and (Subject Test): ₹14,500 INR.
Duration (after September 22, 2023): Just under 2 hours.
Valid: 5 years from the date of exam

Description: Computer-adaptive test for MBA admissions worldwide.
